I often justify myself based on the verse from the Bible, “…People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7). I had an interesting revelation this morning.
1) People still do look at outward appearance, so your actions and gestures are still essential to get right even though your heart is aligned with God’s ways.
2) Your thoughts, actions, and way of life spring out of what’s in your heart anyway (Luke 6:45), so they should be in sync, not one or the other.
